Parenting Wisely is a computer parent training program, which does not require individuals to possess computer or literacy skills.  Participants view case studies presented on the computer and respond to the material as they develop more effective parental strategies.  Participants review completed assignments individually with their counselor.

Secondly, participants will attend and actively participate in group therapy sessions.  Sessions will help to process and develop parenting skills in a supportive environment.

The last component is mentor support, during which participants will be linked to a successful parent of their choice or one provided by the program to act as a role-model to the program participant.

Performance/Discharge Criteria:  Satisfactory completion of Treatment Plan Goals, and a Parenting Plan.

Payments Accepted:

  1. Cash
  2. Medicaid
  3. Sliding Scale (for Fairfield County Residents)
