MOPS offers a full-time Psychology Predoctoral Internship Program focusing on providing psychological services to underserved populations. It is the agency’s vision to be a culturally and socially responsive agency striving to develop a comprehensive program based on the needs to the community where all persons experiencing substance abuse and mental health issues may achieve their full potential. We offer a unique training experience in community mental health and in working with underserved populations.  Qualified applicants must possess a Master’s Degree in Psychology and have achieved doctoral candidacy from a regionally accredited doctoral program in psychology upon the start of the internship year. In addition, successful candidates will have a minimum of three years of pre-internship graduate training, dissertation proposal approved, passed their comprehensive exams, and possess a desire to work in a community mental health setting after graduation.

 Mid-Ohio Psychological Services Inc. participates in the Internship Matching Program that is operated by the National Matching Services, Inc. (NMS) and administered by the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). Applicants must obtain an Applicant Agreement and register for the Match in order to be eligible for the Internship Program. This internship site agrees to abide by all APPIC policies pertaining to the match process. For details of the Match Policies please see http://www.appic.org. After acceptance the formal appointment to the position is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screening.

 To apply for an internship position, an applicant must submit the following:

1. AAPI Online

2. Transcripts of all graduate work

3. Current curriculum vita

4. Three letters of reference

5. Cover letter that addresses the following questions:

• What do you feel you need to accomplish during your internship year?

• What are your career interests beyond your internship year?

• In what way does the Mid-Ohio Psychological Services Internship help you meet your professional goals?

All materials must be submitted via the AAPI Online and received by December 1, 2010.

 Mid-Ohio Psychological Services offers on-site interview in early to mid-January. The selection committee meets to review the complete applications and offers invitations to interview to the highest qualified applicants. Notification of interview status will be made by December 15, 2010.
