POLICY 

It is the policy of the Mid-Ohio Psychological Service to take affirmative action in accordance with all  applicable federal, state, and county laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.  Discrimination against employees and applicants due to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, political affiliation, HIV status or age is illegal.

 

Every reasonable attempt will be made to hire a racially and culturally diverse staff which reflects the makeup of the service area.  The services of Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. will attempt to address the specific needs of cultural and relevant programming for the ethnic minorities, the deaf and hearing impaired and others.

 

Dissemination of this policy statement to staff and displaying posters for the Ohio Civil Rights commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are two methods to publicize our commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity.  Persons who believe the agency has discriminated against them may file a complaint.

 

TITLE VII Compliance Statement

The Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc.  will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for  employment because of RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, SEX, OR NATIONAL ORIGIN.  Mid-Ohio Psychological Service will take action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated, during employment, without regard to their RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, SEX, OR NATIONAL ORIGIN.  Such action shall include, but not be limited to employment, upgrading, demotion, transfer, recruitment, advertising, layoff, termination, and selection for training.

 

TITLE VI Compliance Statement

Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. will operate in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  No person in this Board, on the grounds of RACE, COLOR, OR NATIONAL ORIGIN, shall be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination.

 

SECTION 504 OF THE REHABILITATION ACT OF 1973, AS AMENDED Compliance Statement

Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. will operate in accordance with Section  504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended prohibiting discrimination against persons with disabilities in employment, services, participation and access to all programs receiving federal assistance.  Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employment of qualified persons with disabilities, such as making facilities accessible, modifying equipment, providing readers, and use of job restructuring, part-time or modified work schedules, TTY/TTD and other auxiliary aids for persons with hearing impairment.

 

AGE DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT ACT OF 1967, AS AMENDED Compliance Statement

Mid-Ohio Psychological Service, Inc. will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age (40 years old and over).  Mid-Ohio Psychological Service will take action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated, during employment, without regard to their age.  Such action shall include but not be limited to hiring , compensation, discharge, or other terms, conditions or privileges of employment.

 

AGE DISCRIMINATION ACT OF 1975 Compliance Statement

Mid-Ohio Psychological Service, Inc. will operate in accordance with the Age Discrimination Act of 1975.  No employee on the grounds of age shall be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subject to discrimination under any program or activity for which the agency received federal financial assistance.

 

Major EEO Laws and Rules

The Equal Pay Act of 1963 - requires that individuals must receive equal pay (in state service, equal classification) for equal work regardless of sex.  The federal enforcement agency is the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

 

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 - forbids that anyone be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin through expenditure of federal monies.  Title VI is enforced by the appropriate federal grantor.

 

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (as amended) - forbids employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including sexual harassment), and national origin.  The federal enforcement agency is the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.


The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (as amended) - generally forbids discrimination in employment on the basis of age (40 years or older).  The federal enforcement agency is the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

 

The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 - requires that governmental agencies receiving federal monies by non-discriminatory toward handicapped.  This section is enforced by guidelines of the respective federal grantors.

 

Section 4112 of the Ohio Revised Code - forbids employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion sex (including sexual harassment), ancestry,  national original, handicap, and age.  The state enforcement agency is the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.
